Gyproc’s Motorola Project in Chennai

Overview

The Chennai based Motorola manufacturing plant specialises in making telecom equipment for the global market. The project required the building of a robust internal partition system up to 7 meters high, on a self-standing basis.

Project Highlights:

Gyproc 198mm Fireline drywall systems were the preferred choice for this project. They delivered 120 minutes of fire rating, allowed a building height of 7 meters with a severe duty rating.

Cummins India Limited, Pune
Gyproc’s Cummins India Ltd Project in Pune

Overview

Cummins India Ltd (CIL), a diesel engine factory in Pune, is an international scale plant with stringent requirements of fire rating and a requirement for robust walls up to heights of 13 meters.

Project Highlights:

Gyproc 200mm systems allowed the walls to be built to a height of 13.5 meters. They also gave the desired high durability which was required since the wall served as a separation unit in a factory environment. The 200mm Gyproc drywall solution also provided 120 minutes of fire rating for compartmentalising the plant - a severe duty rating as per the project requirement.

Overview

Fiat India’s state of the art facility at Ranjangaon can produce 100,000 cars and 200,000 engines, besides aggregates and components. The project required drywalls to be built to separate the various units with fire ratings of 2 hours and a height of 7 meters.

Project Highlights:

Gyproc 198mm Fireline drywall systems were built up to a height of 7 meters and delivered a fire rating of 120 minutes, providing stability, integrity and insulation with severe duty rating.

L’Oreal India Pvt. Ltd, Pune

Overview

The L'Oreal India factory in Pune manufactures highly sensitive cosmetics. It had a requirement for an internal partition system to be built to a height of 13 meters while giving a fire rating of 120 minutes.

Project Highlights:

Gyproc 460mm drywall systems were built to a height of 13 meters to separate the production area and storage area. The unique feature of the system provided was that it was a self-standing partition and also delivered 120 minutes of fire rating as required. Gyproc false ceilings were used in all guest rooms and common areas.

Overview

German brewing technology major Ziemann Group’s plant in Pune required the set up of a greater height partition system which delivered 120 minutes of fire rating with a thickness restriction of 200mm.

Project Highlights:

Gyproc 198mm drywall systems were used for this application which went up to a height of 9.50 meters. The systems delivered a fire rating of 120 minutes and a severe duty rating.

Bosch, Bidadi
Bosch India

Overview

Bosch, a leading supplier of technology and services, was setting up its 5th manufacturing facility in Bidadi. The project required construction of partitions over height of 6 meter, while maintaining thickness of 150mm. The plan for the shopfloor required performance solutions for moisture resistance. Specific areas also required high material movement hence, performance solutions for impact resistance were important.

Project Highlights:

Gyproc Drywall technology can be constructed into large heights while maintaining less thickness by altering the framework. Hence, it was the preferred choice to meet the specified requirements.

Gyproc provided customized solution of 154mm of 2 layer of Gyproc® Moisture Resistant Board & Gyproc® Plain Board on either side of 0.9mm thick 92mm. The height of the partition was 6 meters, as required.

Gyproc 122mm system of 2layer Gyproc® Duraline Board & Gyproc Plain Board on either side was installed in the admin area.

Greaves Cotton, Aurangabad

Overview

Greaves cotton is a manufacturer and supplier of agricultural and industrial equipments and machines.

A typical manufacturing setup like Greaves Cotton Ltd. required a robust interior construction technology that could guard against heavy movement of material in and around shop floor, wear and tear caused by forklifts and large soft body impact (human movement).

Project Highlights:

Gyproc drywall technology offers solutions for high impact zones. In this case a 98mm system consisting of 13mm Gyproc® Duraline Board (High density board) which is tested as per BS 5234 Part 22 for its strength and robustness was used to cater to the specific impact duty requirement of the project.

NCR, Chennai
NCR Corporation

Overview

NCR Corporation is a manufacturer of ATM machines. Their new facility at the Mahindra World City needed to be tested/certified for 1-hour fire resistant with a height of 7meters.

Project Highlights:

All Gyproc fire rated systems are tested and certified. 7 meter wall height was constructed using 208mm systems consisting of 148mm stud with double layer of 15mm Gyproc® Fireline Board. The drywall system provided a fire protection of 1 hour as per the requirement of the project.

Tetra Pak India

Overview

Tetra pack is the World’s leading food processing and packaging solutions company. The plant’s design required durable and robust solutions for their interiors. The key selection criteria for the construction technology included sustainability.

Project Highlights:

Gyproc ceilings and drywall systems are sustainable and offer high performance and thus, was the obvious choice for this project.

Walls installed at the shop floor and warehouses were to be designed to take the wear and tear caused by moving material and other equipments. In order to provide robust wall solution Double layer of 13mm Gyproc® Duraline board (High Impact Resistant Board) with 148mm twin stud was used.

HONEYWELL AUTOMATION INDIA LIMITED, Pune

Overview

Honeywell Automation India Limited, an American multinational conglomerate recently constructed a 75,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Pune. The project demanded international standards for fire safety, high durability and quick completion. Hence, futuristic drywall technology was adopted.

Project Highlights:

A Gyproc 208mm drywall system allowed walls to be built up to a height of 12 mt with 2 hour fire rating. Gyproc’s duraline system was adopted for the 3.7mt free standing partition wall to achieve high durability in a production environment. The production block was designed using PEB structure and the use of drywall technology helped in faster completion. The project was completed in just 3 months, record time for a project of such magnitude.
